Working on those vines... and a funny.

I'm stilling working on my table topper.

I have all the flower appliqued down and now I'm working on the fun part.
Those swirly green vines.

I'm going over each line twice to give it more color and a better appearance.

And Now the Funny

My daughter was at the park today and sent me this picture with the caption:

Maybe they forgot how to play.

Just too cute.

Happy Stitching and enjoy your weekend,

New Project - Lovin' Me Some Applique!

I've taken a "Big O Break" and gotten good and rested.  For a while there I felt like I was chained to my sewing machine. Playing with baby Lily cured all that.

Recently the Sewful Sisters decided to do an applique project.  A table topper measuring at least 22 inches.  Well - what you know I could sure use that!  And I LOVE applique.  So I started a project and then quickly abandoned it for this one which I found in a magazine.  Why does that always happen?

I'm having a blast with it. I've been trying some new techniques - like using a paper on the back as a  stabilizer.

And you know I'm not leaving without showing you Lily.

My New Blouse

A little something about me that you didn’t know -  I used to live in North Carolina and I used to sew all my clothes (Except Jeans – I never had the desire to go there!)  Well, back then I always wore dresses – I just like dresses and they were cooler, I liked the breeze on my legs.  So then I moved to Italy – and you know what?   I couldn’t find very many clothes that I could wear – so I continued to make my own clothes and clothes for my daughters.

Then I moved back to the States – land of the malls and sales!  And I found quilting and life was good.

Recently, however, I’ve been itching to be stitching up some clothes.  Only this time I thought I would try making my own pattern.  Oh what fun!

I wore this to work and received so many compliments.  I do like the fabric.  It's a simple blouse but I'm really happy to have made it with my own pattern.

Oh it's not the best picture - but my dear husband took it and I'm just happy that he did as he was super busy that day.

Thanks for all your suggestions for Rosanna's Etsy store - she decided on RoxyRose Art.

So now I'm off to find more fabric for another blouse. Maybe this time I'll make cap sleeves.

Happy Stitching,
Linda

Your Opinions Wanted!

Well, since I haven’t been sewing.  I’ve got to post about something!  And here’s what’s been happening in my life.

M
y daughter is going to open an ESTY shop.  She plans to sell painting and a few other craft items.  I did tell her I would ask  ya’ll about the name.

Here are some that she thought of – which one(s) to you like.  Or maybe you have a better name?

1.       Don’t Drive my Art Around

2.       Pretty in Paint

3.       Cross my Art

4.       Straight from the Art

5.       Art over Mind

6.       You will be in my Art

7.       Painting the Roses Red

8.       RoxyRose Art

So here is the picture of Liliana.  (Don’t even bother to groan - You knew I was going to  post one!)

And another one - Wait! Hold that groan - it's worth it

Am I  right?  This picture is worth it!  I'm going to go visit Liliana tomorrow.  Can't wait!

Okay everyone back to sewing now.

Happy Stitching,
Linda

Odds & Ends

With the birth of Lily - it's about all we think about.
Lily - sleeping, Grandma (that's me!) and Grandpa
Funny how that happens - such a little thing and yet she sure can make the world revolve around her!

I haven't been working on any quilts or other sewing projects.
Although I did find another one to start - no surprise there. Right?

But check this out - isn't this so cute?  I don't really know how to crochet. I mean I learned when I was a kid.  So I think I can do it.

I think it's adorable.  Here's the link to it on Craft Passion's site.  Really you'll want to check out her site she has plenty of other great things to make on there too.

And really did you think I would let you go without looking at one more picture of Lily?

Good News! She's Here!

Happiness is calling your daughter “MOM” for the very first time.

 Liliana Belle

 AKA Baby Belle

And someday may be known as Lily

Was born on Saturday – Feburary 15th

7 lbs 9 oz  (Such a nice weight!)

Saturday morning  I was at McDonald’s getting a Hot White Chocolate Coffee.  Yum!  I had just discovered this treat a couple days ago – and I was happy to be getting it again when I got the phone call from Angela,  she was in labor and on her way to the hospital!  Yikes! I quickly ordered another coffee – Yes !  This is what you do during a crisis!   LOL

Actually I was picking one up for my other daughter, Rosanna who would be making the 3 ½ hour drive with me.  Off we went and we were able to get there in plenty of time – Thank goodness!

So Congrats to the new parents.

 They will be great parents.

Cats in Pjs is Finished!

I have a Finish!

We all get so excited to have a finish.

And I'm so happy to have this cuddly little baby quilt finished before the baby comes.

So here it is.

Don't you just love it?  Most of the cats have oval eyes. But a this one, the crazy cat, needed round eyes.

Oh I put a little rick rack on this one too.  So I couldn't have only one round eyed cat so I made three.

And I put the softest, most cuddlely minky on the back.
Just Yummy!

How do you like the mice that are running around the border?

Happy Stitching (for 20 minutes) each day,

Linda
