The Scarred Woman - Book Review (Great Book!)

I just finished reading this book.  It is such a great story and I want to tell you because I'm sure you will enjoy it.
It is written by Jussi Adler-Olsen.  He is a Danish author and I found out he has won the award “Favourite Author of the Danes” in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

So in this book - which is a crime mystery, a team (Department Q which deals in cold cases) go about their business of solving crimes.  Of course that's not what makes this so interesting.  It's the characters that Jussi has created.  The book kept me entertained the whole way through. There are so many little things (little twists and then the turns that made me actually gasp out loud! Don't you just love a book that makes you gasp out loud?  And the little jokes that are so funny.)  I love that Adler-Olsen makes his characters so realistic.  I could understand why the characters did what did or reacted the way they did, even the killer.

I especially love Rose's unique problems and her mental illness and the way Adler-Olsen had his characters react to her.

This is one book that is worth reading!

A side note:  it is not gory, bloody and gross.  There is murder - but not the gore that some authors describe. I was so happy not to read a book with that.

Happy Reading,
Linda

I was given the book by the publisher to give an honest review.

  1. Sounds good! I don't do blood and gore and violence when it's detailed. How's it going with the sale?
