Merry Christmas & My Bucilla Stocking

Okay Gals, Christmas is almost here.

AND my good news is, I'm almost ready.  You do remember I was having problems finding gifts for my daughter.  But I did.  Now, I just have to wrap presents.  Yep, I put that off until I have a pile of presents instead of wrapping as I get them.

In the meanwhile, I haven't been doing any sewing.  It sure feels good to give it a rest for the month of December.

What I have been working on is a Bucilla stocking.
My sister taught me to write my name on tissue paper and then embroider it.
Then gently rip it off!  Easy Pleasy!
I've loved every minute I've worked on this stocking. Believe me it takes a LOT of minutes to complete these stockings, so it won't be finished for this year.  Last night I just finished  the snowman.
Here's what it should look like when it's finished. (Only with my name - not Carolyn's LOL!)
I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

Monday Morning Hair

On Friday I decided to take off and go visit my daughter in Salinas, CA.

Oh what fun! We always have a blast.

We went to a swap meet and I debated and debated about buying this clippie for my hair.
Cuz it was a whole $3.00!  LOL

So this morning I put my hair up and then wanted to look to check it out. I looked in the drawer for my hand mirror and wasn't there.  I saw my phone on the counter and used it.

Yeah, those cameras do come in handy!

And the sad news is: the clip fell out of my hair on the way to work -  before even I hit the freeway!  LOL

Oh well, putting it up and hair spraying it gave me a good hair day anyway.

I hope your day is going nicely,
Linda

Free: Fons & Porter's Log Cabin Quilt ebook

Okay now, does FREE sound good?

Well, the nice people at Fons and Porter asked my to review their Log Cabin Quilt ebook, called Build your Best Log Cabin.  Of course I said YES!

First I love Log Cabin Quilts.  And second, It's Fons and Porter!

I do love having an ebook - it's right there at my fingertips & easy to access.  I did really enjoy all the eye candy in the book.
I love this one - but I can't decide if it is my favorite or not  as the all the quilts are so appealing.
I'll have to settle for it is my favorite for today.

They have some different log cabin quilts than I have not seen before - with some history and instructions and helpful hints. They even have a tables for making different size blocks. (yea!)

And if that wasn't enough, they also include instructions for Bobbin Work with Trapunto, (which is very pretty and I can't wait to try), Binding with Piping
and Liz's Lumpless Binding.

I really think you will enjoy this ebook and I want invite you all to check out for free (thank you Fons and Porter!)

Christmas and New Spring Colors

Are you all getting ready for Christmas?  Buying/making those gifts?  Do you wrap as you get them, or wait until they are a big pile?  I say every year I'll wrap as I buy - but I never do.

I'm not doing that well on the buying gifts part either, but I'm not worried yet. I still have plenty of time.

I don't think time is really going to help me as I have a daughter (17) that doesn't want anything.  Have you ever heard of such a thing?  I know she likes clothes - but I don't think I've ever selected anything that she likes.  It's the way of mothers and daughters; daughters always hate their mother's old fashion style. (At least that's the way it's been in our family. I hated my mother's, she hated her mother's, on down the line.)  I must admit I do love watching my daughter's face as I hold up something I think is adorable and she struggles not to rolls her eyes! hehehe  She really is sweet - she doesn't want to hurt my feelings - but NO WAY is she wearing THAT!

So while I'm sitting here mulling over getting my Christmas cards and packages mailed, the Pantone Color people are announcing the 2013 Spring Colors!  Really?  All Ready?

Wow!  I sure to like these colors. I can just see a quilt made from them.  But I think I'll just stick to thinking about Christmas for now.  I like to enjoy one season at a time.  But in the back of my mind I'll be thinking of these new colors! LOL!
