I have it wrapped and sitting in my closet.
Yep, it was super easy to put on the minky. Look how cute that ruffly minky binding is.
Is that cute or what? As I was sewing it felt like I was sewing a rabbit (not in a bad way) - it was just so fluffy.
See all that white stuff on the black fabric - a couple shakes of the quilt and "Poof" it was gone. I guess I was sewing a magic rabbit. hehehe
It was quick and easy. I sewed one line around the quilt where the border meets the main body of the quilt
and then made the binding by turning it over to the front. I did this before to a quilt and that quilt has lasted years and many machine washings. The only problem is the minky is thick when you come to the corners - however, a couple snips to reduce the bulk and those corners look great. Fuzzy - and great.
And the mess when I finished cutting the minky? Here check it out.
This is all of it. Really not much. I wiped the cutting mat down with a damp cloth and vacuumed the carpet.
So as I said I put the present up in my closet. High up in my closet, where no one looks. And how long did it take Serena to spy it?
Like two seconds! LOL But she has to wait.

As you know Sugar just had to pose with the quilt. Personally I think she makes it look better.

Darling quilt and love the minky binding, obviously Sugar likes it too.
ReplyDeleteFirst, congratulations on getting it done! Second, congratulations on attempting and conquering minkey! You are braver than I! Third, that fuzzy white binding is amazing. I love it, and so will Serena!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute and cozy!
ReplyDeleteLooking cosy indeed and definitely less fluff than working with corduroy - that's a severe pain in the ... :)
