At it Again - Angela's Quilt

I've decided to haul out Angela's Quilt once again.

Lets see - that center block needed squaring up.

And I don't know how I'm going to put it together.

The center block is 15 1/2 - the rest of the block are 12.

A five inch border with Prairie Points?

Some how I need to get the 12 inches blocks and the 15 inch center block into a nice (and mathematical) layout.

I'm just happy to be working on it again.  I only work on it about once a year. And each time something major is accomplished.  Last year was the center block and the year before was completing the 12 inch blocks.

Happy Stitching,
Nicey Linda

  2. What if you put the center block on point? You could extend the setting triangles to the size you want (or add a narrower border with those pretty prairie points). The setting triangles (in a color maybe?) would be a great place for some pretty quilting design when you get there.

  3. Ooh, good luck with that. It's been a long time since I've use math to figure out how to make a setting all come together. What about an asymmetrical setting that avoids the math altogether? I love the colors of your blocks, especially how striking the big block looks with those white points.

  5. Pretty! Linda, your fabrics are so nice with that black. This will be a stunning quilt. What about nesting the prairie points inside the black border (so you'd actually have two black borders). That way there's a resting space between the points and the 12" blocks? Oh! I just glanced at the comments up already. I really REALLY like Sophie's idea of putting the center on point with some black setting triangles for gorgeous quilting work later on.

  6. Oh holy moly, Linda, that center block is a show stopper! I wish I could offer some helpful advice to you. What Sophie and Lynette suggested makes sense to me, but I'm no quilty expert :)
