January Goal & Great Clover Product

Hello Everyone!

I've been trying to find time to write a post - I keep getting distracted with everyone's blogs! Especially this time of year with all the new projects and BOMs!
(I love them, love them, love them! And want to start them!)

I was thinking last year I completed two UFO's and one new project.  I was pretty happy with that.
Then I decided it was time to make a list of all my quilts and projects.
(I haven't been brave enough to do this for the past 5 years.)

I came up to lucky number 12.  Well, it I finish only 2 a year it will take me 6 YEARS to finish them.  NOT acceptable.

So how can I get more done yet not feel I'm chained to my machine?

(Oh my gosh! I just remembered three more UFOs!)

Here's what I'm working on for January.  My Civil War quilt.
I've only just pinned the vines down to get an idea of how to do this.

I have to tell you about this - because if you ever make vines on a quilt, this is the way to go.
Clover makes this fusiable webbing for bias tape and it's the BEST!!
I applied it to the vine (with an iron) and then once it placed on my border pulled off the paper and applied the iron to make it stay.  Sooo EASY!!!
Picture is before I ironed on the vines, flowers, etc.
This does give you an idea of what I'm doing.
Using the fusiable web & ironing on the vines and flowers, it has smoothed out all those loose parts.

Cool Right?

I want to wish you all a Very Happy New Year. With much Happiness, Good Health and Quilty Fun.

Linda

  1. Your quilt is beautiful! I think that should count as more than one finish. Remember, it's not about the numbers, it's about the process and having fun. Are we having fun yet??

  3. Only 12 UFO's? That's brilliant. I daren't even think how many I have, let alone count them!

  4. Your quilt is stunning! You are brave to make a list...I tried that but forgot so many as I was making the list. I also have civil war blocks made in a 2011 weekly QAL...guess it is time to work on that one too!

  5. Hi Linda, that bias fusible really is amazing! I would never have known about it if you hadn't shared that. Thanks! Best of luck with your wips...I think they haunt most of us!
