Last Weekend was not made for Sewing. (Sigh)

So... Did you have a nice weekend?  Were you able to get some sewing in?

No sewing for me.  But I did clean my machine. That part was enjoyable.  I love getting all that lint out of there. Then I had to replace the needle. Mine is bent.  I must of searched for a new needle for over 10 min.  Hey, that's a LIFE TIME in my hot garage!  I was almost ready to call my daughter (she was a Walmart) and have her pick me up some, when I finally found them.  They were in the nice cool house, in my sewing box.  LOL!!  Don't tell me you know exactly where your's are! Then I would have to feel bad.  Hahaha!

So while you were (hopefully) sewing away,  I was traipsing around town looking for a dishwasher.
My view is, since we need a new one I would spend just a little more and get one that actually works.  Right now I have to clean the dishes, as in actually wash those babies, and then I can put them in.  Which is really silly.  I want to scrape the food off and be done.  Right?  And I want it to be quieter than our present one.

We ended up with a Maytag.  I sure hope it's a good one.  With nylon tines.  Ours have rusted away and we are missing a lot of them.  Hard to stand glasses up without them.  LOL!!  So hopefully, this will do the trick.  I don't even know when it's coming.  I'm not in a big hurry to get it.

So what wonderful things did you get to work on while I was shopping?

Nicey Linda

  1. I hate wasting time shopping for appliances! I'm glad you found your needles, and got de-linted. Now you're all ready for sewing the week away.

  2. I'm glad you found your needles! I know what box mine are in, but I don't know where that box is! lol We swam in the pool today, then it rained; so we swam in the rain with umbrellas! It's so fun having kids, I can get away with doing such silly things. :)

  3. I don't know where my needles are.. or if I even have any left. Haven't bought any in a while, and have broken a few. ;) I have to say, I don't hate appliance shopping. B/C it usually means something is getting upgraded. You will LOVE your new d/w. They are so quiet now.. when we replaced our very old one, it went from sounding like a truck was driving through the house, to wondering if the thing was actually running. Heavenly. I'm waiting for them to make one that eats the leftover food off, too. ;)

  4. Hm....I wonder where MY needles are? I may have to go looking later. Although my sewing machine is put away for the duration of the heat wave.
We need a new dishwasher - right now I'm washing by HAND, yikes! Sure wastes water.

  5. I have never had a dishwasher. Now that my kids are getting older and moving out of the nest, I need one. I would rather sew than wash dishes...=)

  6. To say that last weekend was not made for sewing was an understatement for me! Geesh! I'm hoping to make up for it this weekend though. Sewing with girlfriends tomorrow and a trip to the LQS! Good luck with your dishwasher, we got a Maytag a few years ago.

  7. We need a new one, but I've been holding off until we remodel the kitchen. I have been handwashing dishes for a year. No sewing for me last week. I was on vacation, and E. told me I needed to take a vacation from quilting. haha!
