FNwF Update - Pillowcase

Is there anything as relaxing as sewing?
Especially sewing with friends?
Yikes - because I turned the fabric - so that the zebras would be running and playing horizontally across the pillow I was just a little bit short - like three inches.  So silly - but there is no way I could possibly sleep with zebras running the wrong way across my pillow!

However, what did I have in my stash?  The perfect fabric purchased years ago.  YAY!!

I wanted to make it envelope style so that no dirt would get on my pillow.  And sometimes you can throw something inside - like a journal.
And here is my completed pillowcase.

And I did have someone ask - why I didn't use Chinese fabric - since that's where I'm going.  It's because I saw this fabric and fell in love with it.  Hahaha

Now let's see what everyone else is up to.
Nicey Linda

  1. No, I don't think there is anything quite relaxing as sewing, and even better stitching with friends. Love the zebra fabric, sweet pillowcase. I am sure when you get to China you will buy oodles of pretty Chinese fabric.

  7. The pillow turned out delightful! I always think that a bit of a problem turns into more creativity, and that is just what happened, the added fabric adds the perfect touch to your pillow! I like the pillowcases that tuck in as well. :)

  14. LOL. I know just what you mean about the zebras needing to run across the pillow instead of down toward my back or up toward the wall. Me too! I really like the striped fabric you chose to go with the zebras. The two compliment and complement each other, I think. Zebras and stripes always go together!

  15. yes, one should control the running around of zebras on one's pillow. It's hard enough to sleep as it is! I actually like that accent stripe better than a plain pillow too. Yea!
